Some sections of floor inside are cracked and unstable, so a Mach Bike, which can quickly ride over the weak points before they crumble away, is required to reach the top. After one of the Fossils is taken, the tower will collapse, the remaining Fossil will sink into the sand, and the tower will never return. However, this other Fossil can later be found in the Desert Underpass, the entrance to which is located on Route 114 at the back of the Fossil Maniac's house, though it cannot be accessed until the player completes the game and obtains the National Pokédex.

This is Mirage Tower. Make sure you have the Mach Bike with you, since there are cracked floors, and also bring someone who knows Rock Smash. Ascend the tower and at the top you'll find two fossils, the Root Fossil on the left and the Claw Fossil on the right. Take any one of them, and the tower will crumble and the other fossil will disappear into the sand. Not to worry, you can recover it. Head back to the Fossil Maniac in Fallarbor after you have beaten the Elite Four.

The Ancient Tower is a decrepit building that is accessed from the Mysterious Hideaway. As the player scales up the tower, the floors become increasingly filled with cracks and holes that, when stepped on, send the player down to the floor below. More secrets of the tower are revealed if the player is able to enter the tower during an entirely different time period.

Sky Pillar is a kind of secret tower in this game, and contains a vicious looking legendary Pokemon. Enter thecave, and go into the tower. The first floor is pretty simple: just walk up the stairs. You'll find cracks on thefloor on the second floor. Use your Mach Bike to get past it. There will be two staircases on the third floor. Take the one on the right to get to the fourth floor. This is the tricky part. The cracks here are hard to get through, as you'll need to cruise through every one of them on your bike in one go. If you stop, the bike will lose it's momentum, and you'll drop down. Go to the middle roughly where the area of the middle stairs in the previous floor, and drop down. From here on, just find your way to the staircases, and everything will work out fine. That is, untilyou reach the sixth floor, where a legendary Pokemon awaits you.
